Lead (Pb) Free / Halogen Free Information

RoHS Compliant

All of the lead-free products comply with RoHS directive.
Halogen free products are also antimony-free.

Lead (Pb) Free Information

We have attained compliance to RoHS directive by introducing lead-free.
Since Apr. 1, 2006, we have shipped out lead-free products* only.

* The word "lead-free products" refers to those compliant with RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU, (EU) 2015/863).

Our real time clock modules (R2025 series and R2045 series) contain a little Pb exceptionally permitted by RoHS Directive.

Exemption: No.7(a) Lead in high melting temperature type solders (i.e. lead-based alloys containing 85% by weight or more lead)

Restricted Substances Maximum Levels by Weight
Cadmium (Cd) 0.01 wt% (100 ppm)
Lead (Pb) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Mercury (Hg) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Butyl Butyl Phthalate (BBP) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)
Diisobutyl Phthalate (DIBP) 0.1 wt% (1,000 ppm)

Halogen Free Information

For the conservation of the global environment, we are advancing the decrease of the negative environmental impact material.
Basically after Apr. 1, 2012, we will ship out the Power Management ICs of the Halogen Free products only.

Definition of Ricoh

The Halogen Free Criteria (IEC 61249-2-21 definition)
  • Cl (chlorine) ≤ 900 ppm
  • Br (bromine) ≤ 900 ppm
  • Cl +Br ≤ 1,500 ppm
Antimony Free
  • Sb2O3 (Antimony trioxide) ≤ 1,000 ppm
