Voltage Detectors (Reset ICs)
Reset ICs have two output types of Nch. open drain and CMOS. If the supply voltage of the reset IC and microcontroller is the same, the connection can be selected with the CMOS output.
However, if the supply voltage is different, the connection should be selected using the Nch. open drain output. When making connection, the output pin should be pulled up to the supply voltage of the microcontroller.
CMOS Output Type
Nch. Open Drain Output Type
Ricoh provides a product version ("H" Type) with an N-channel open drain output which offers a "H" reset signal instead of "L".
Such "H" reset signal addresses a typical phenomenon at the output when sensing voltages below the minimum operating voltage of the reset IC.
